The Science of Getting Rich, by Wallace D. Wattles asserts that there is an exact science to getting rich. The book does not directly say it, but it is clear the principles he writes about will get you "rich" in whatever and whereever you direct your creative impulses.

The book proposes that there is enough riches in the world for everyone. And that you, if you are not rich, are not taking the certain steps needed to direct the world's existing riches your way. It promotes the idea of positive thinking and visualization, yet, does not present itself as a self-help book. It touches on the religious, if only to help further prove a point it wants to make about an existing law of getting rich.

The author presents each point and guiding principle he wants to hit in a very structured and deliberate manner. The author, as well, asks you to believe certain things about the laws of the universe are true, because since laws have to work certain ways, working against them will work against your progress to getting rich. A number of times mentioning your desires will fail if these laws are not followed. While a compelling argument, it is a compelling book, and worth the read to all who have the time.
